Prenatal Massage by Lori Pritchard
Many of us carry around stress that we're not even
aware of and this effects our body and our health. This is especially
true during pregnancy when you're body is going through many physical
and physiological and emotional changes such as increased weight,
shifting posture, and adjusting hormonal changes. I use techniques that
are safe and effective for expectant mothers. Massages also reduces
stress, anxiety and depression as well as the following:
- Decrease edema in legs and feet by increasing
circulation
- Relieve aches and pains in muscles and joints
instead of taking pain medication
- Lower blood pressure
- Enhance immunity by stimulating lymph flow-the
body's natural defense system
- Promote relaxation and deep breathing
- Decrease pain in the pelvic/hip area I believe
in the benefits of massage for ultimate health.
I do recommend that everyone check with their
Doctor or Midwife prior to getting a massage.

Midwife Birthing Services by Anne Sommers
Anne Sommers, Licensed Midwife, has been directly
involved in midwifery since 1986, when she began her apprenticeship. In
1996 she completed Seattle Midwifery School's Challenge Process, and
the NARM exam (supervised by the California Medical Board) qualifying
her as a licensed midwife in the state of California.
Anne's philosophy as an experienced Midwife is one
of non-interference and informed choice with the natural process of
birth, feeling that she works with the mother and father as a team
member. Anne spends time at her prenatal visits addressing questions
and educating her clients on all aspects of the pregnancy
experience. I firmly believe that birth is not necessarily a
medical event, but a natural, personal experience which needs to
involve the family, primarily the husband.

Dunstan Baby Language: As seen on the Oprah
show!
This class is for moms and dads and is suitable
during pregnancy and
baby’s first 12 weeks. Learn the 5 cries your baby uses to communicate
his/her everyday needs. Your baby will cry less and settle faster as
you learn the sounds for hunger, tiredness, needs to burp gas pain and
discomfort. For parents, infant crying often elicits feelings of
stress, poor perceived competence and low self-esteem-all factors that
can put parents and infants at risk. By assisting the development of
effective coping skills, the Dunstan Method has the potential to reduce
the negative consequences of prolonged infant crying. This class
teaches you the 5 cries all babies use to signal their everyday needs.
It will also introduce you to helpful settling techniques and helps you
to “tune-in” to your baby and create a routine based on your baby. For
more information on Dunstan Baby Language and the instructor, Cheryl
Clift please visit her website.
